Gentle, creative violin lessons for children

Smiling Star Illustration

Star Strings Violin and Music Studio

Sessions are friendly, structured and tailored to each child and would typically include:

  • Simple fun games to help learning.

  • Gentle guidance on posture and bow hold and other technical aspects

  • Pieces and repertoire chosen to suit ability and personality

  • A clear, manageable practice plan

Younger children learn through playful musicianship. Older pupils work in more depth on tone, technique and expression, with the option to prepare for ABRSM, Trinity, or Rockschool (RSL) exams when appropriate.

At Star Strings, children learn the violin in a calm, supportive setting. The studio is run by  Rebekah,  a Colourstrings-trained professional musician and DBS checked member of the Musicians’ Union, with extensive experience teaching young string players and musicians  of all ages.

Lessons focus on musical foundations first — listening, singing, movement and simple games — helping children build confidence, good posture and a natural sense of rhythm before moving on to pieces and exams.

You’ll receive details on current spaces, fees and practical arrangements.

Star Strings is based in Yateley close to Crowthorne, Wokingham, Farnborough and Hook; our full address is shared once a trial is arranged.
